The contact continued to charge the battery however, the battery caught on fire and spread to the engine. The vehicle was destroyed. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. I'm also having electrical problems, get shocked every time you touch the car. The windshield wipers work when they want to and the turn signals work only when they want to as well. Along with the head gasket blowing this car has been nothing but trouble for me. Also the trunk leaks and smells musty and the rear window will not defog when it is raiining. I'm very disappointed in Ford.
