I had my brakes looked at by a friend because I felt the car wasn't stopping properly. When he checked the brakes they didn't show enough wear to be replaced. Had a mechanic check out the brakes and he found that the brakes were fine but the adjusters on the back brakes were frozen and not working. Replaced the adjusters and now the brake pedal is much higher, car brakes better and the emergency brake lever only goes up to half the level it use too.
