The contact owns a 2023 Ford Maverick. The contact stated while driving approximately 70 MPH, the wheels locked up as if the contact had depressed the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle decelerated to approximately 20 MPH and he observed that the "Service Advancetrac" and the check engine warning lights had illuminated. The contact stated that other unknown warning lights were illuminated. The contact pulled the vehicle over and stopped. The contact turned off and restarted the vehicle however, the "Service Advancetrac" and check engine lights remained illuminated. The contact stated that he drove the vehicle off the highway however, while driving the vehicle would not accelerate above 35 MPH. Additionally, the contact stated that the vehicle was unintentionally accelerating while depressing the brake pedal. The contact stated that the vehicle would accelerate and maintain 35 MPH. The contact had the vehicle towed to a local dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The contact stated that before the failure the dealer had updated an unknown software application on the vehicle. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 30,700.
