Some 2021-2022 Mustang Mach-E vehicles built on 01-Aug-2021 and through 18-Jan-2022, 2022 Maverick vehicles built on 13-Sep-2021 and through 18-Jan-2022, 2022 Escape vehicles built on 24-Sep-2021 and through 18-Jan-2022, 2022 Bronco Sport vehicles built on 08-Nov-2021 and through 18-Jan-2022 may exhibit a shift knob can be rotated without stepping on the brake pedal, although the transmission remains in park (P). This condition may be intermittent, more noticeable in warmer temperatures. DTC P0929 may also be set in the gear shift module (GSM). This may be due to a GSM concern. To correct the condition, follow the Service Procedure to update the GSM.
