The March 2018 date is actually the third time the car "stalled" when pulling out from a stop sign. This time it stalled while pulling out into oncoming traffic. The car stalled half way through the oncoming traffic lane. Fortunately, traffic saw a problem, slowed and drove around me. This time the issue was very dangerous.
After happening initially the second time, I took the car to the local Ford dealership who informed me the car needed two software upgrades and that should fix the problem. Now it's happened a third time. This time it is being taken seriously. A loaner car has been provided and the local Ford dealership is working with Ford Engineering. Car stalls - when this happens, there is no steering, no brakes, no acceleration - nothing. However, the car is still ON. The instrument panels and start button are highlighted. The wrench icon appears. I have to place the car in Park - turn the car Off - turn the car back On then place the car in drive. So far, that has worked in getting started and moving. /
As you can imagine, in the back of my mind is the thought of "is it going to stall again" every time I pull out from being in a stopped position. This is my second Ford Fusion Hybrid. Loved the car enough to purchase another. This one however, is challenging.
