purchased this car used from Anaheim Mitsubishi. Drove without mechanical incident from late November until late Jan. Then one night, while giving a passenger a ride from the airport, the car died down the street from the man's house with these lights on:

- a wrench (powertrain issue) - advanctrac service, bring to dealer - uphill assist disabled - turn car off and get off the road.

I pulled over, turned the car off and tried to restart it. I drove a few feet before noticing the car was accelerating on its own, up a hill. I stopped it, thankfully close enough to the passenger's house and called a tow truck.

Towed to a Ford dealer in Torrance, CA. They said none of those warnings were the issue. That it was the alarm put on by the dealership in Anaheim. They said they disabled the alarm. This struck me as odd since the original dealership had already done this when I bought the car. I called them and they confirmed this and said they had not had anyone report this issue before.

I paid the Ford Torrance dealer $330 and drove the car for a few days. The issue reoccurred and and I had to return to them once again. This time, the said it was the body control module and wanted to charge me an additional $1100. I told them I would get a second opinion. That is where I am now..at an independent shop specialized in electrical problems.
