My lovely car has had a transmission failure at 99k miles. This car has been a gem all along but this is a HUGE problem for me and a HUGE problem for Ford. The car still hasn't been looked at by a Ford dealership (my mechanic diagnosed it but won't repair a Ford transmission). It will be weeks before it can even be seen. The gentlemen that I had been communicating with, namely the Service Manager and his assistant are now both out with Covid as well as 1/3 of their mechanics.

FURTHER, the tool that is required to work on this car has not been made since the 1950's and won't be available until April. Until then, my car and the assets it represents are tied up for months leaving me quite stranded. I am being thrown into the marketplace at least 2 years earlier than I had planned at a time when the used car market is so very high. I had a Toyota Prius picked out for $21k but the bank valuation is $12,225 so they won't finance it. Without my equity, I don't have other funds now for this unplanned for event. I see that there are lots of issues with these cars as well as the Focus for transmissions and Ford is not taking responsibility for these major failures. I'm greatly disappointed.

Fusion Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission

I own a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid and at 72,850 miles the transmission failed and the cost to fix it is $5,100.00. I purchased the car a year ago from a Ford Dealer. After searching the internet to see if this is a common problem I found many sites reporting the same thing.

HATE FORD (FIX OR REPAIR DAILY)! NEVER EVER BUY FORD AGAIN! AS SOON AS EXTENDED WARRANTY RAN OUT AND TRANSMISSION OUT TOO! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH FORD. BOUGHT IT TO SAVE GAS. FORD CLAIMED 47/ PER GALLON, I GOT ABOUT 35/GALLON. JUST FINISHED WITH PAYMENTS ON JANUARY AND NOW MARCH THIS HAPPEN WHILE ON THE FREEWAY, THE CAR DIED. THE CAR JUST WON'T START AND WAS TOWED TO THE DEALER. DEALER SAID NEEDED NEW TRANSMISSION AND IT'LL COST ABOUT $7000. THIS IS 2013 FORD FUSION HYBRID, YOU WOULD THINK THEY HAVE A BETTER TECHNOLOGY, NOPE! SO MANY RECALLS AND I CAN'T RECALL ALL. FORD CUSTOMERS SERVICE/ADVISORS ARE RUDE TOO! I WILL TELL MY CHILDREN AND GRANDCHILDREN TO STAY AWAY FROM FORD. EVERYTHING ABOUT FORD IS SUCK!!!!!!!
