Fusion Hybrid SE 1.6L

I have a 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid with 117K miles. There was a sound like a bad power steering pump when the vehicle was in gas mode. Took it in to the dealership for investigation. Turns out the transmission is bad and in California they want $9000.00 to replace the transmission. Although this is a known problem according to TSB17-039 since it is out of warranty I am sitting on a car at the top end worth $9K that needs $9K of repairs.

Fusion Hybrid SE Hybrid

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

I brought a hybrid as a commuter car driving 90 miles one way a day. Ford has been the only service provider for the car. When I had the recall for the door latches done they told the traction motor was noisy. It has sounded the same way for years and they never said anything. I seeing it was that way I never thought anything about the whine. I thought that was the hybrid. When I had the noise checked out by Ford told me there was an advisory out on the transmission but not a recall. I had 103,000 miles on the car and now they want $7000 to fix a transmission no one has parts for except Ford. 3000 miles after the extended warrantee ran out. I am retired and pretty much on a fix income.
