After reading Ford recall 15S18, it was a dead ringer for my problem. The dealership confirmed the issue was indeed the issue related to recall 15S18 and did the work. The bill was $2400 and when I brought up the recall they pointed to the fine print which said that the recall was good for 10 years (which I was within) and 150,000 miles. I was a mere 7000 miles over the limit so they would not claim it under the recall. I was never notified of the recall or I would have had it fixed. The car had been to the dealership for years for oil changes and they never once thought to tell me there was a recall?!? I called Ford to see if they would be reasonable but they denied me too. A safety recall, which is the fault of the engineering design of the vehicle, should be covered regardless of mileage! When it went out I nearly crashed and then I have to shell out $2400 to fix a recalled part!! Ford should do the right thing but I have no faith that they ever will...
