3 years ago-battery failed and could not exit the vehicle at all, no warning. 2 years ago-plastic piece in door which allows the manual door opener to work broke, could not exit driver side door. 3 years ago - accelerator stopped working on highway, finally pulled over and restarted car and it worked - dealer said could not find problem. Rocker panels rusted out after 6 years - garaged indoors. Heating system failed - it took 1.5 months to obtain parts and fix vehicle, I went to colonial Ford 5 times (and hour each way) because they said it was fixed 5 times in the 1.5 months. 2018-10-25 - check brake system light came on - no brakes going 65 mph down a highway hill for 5 minutes. Police guided to a halt, restarted car and brakes worked. Made it home. Brakes failed 3 times the next day. Ford said they could not look at the vehicle for 3 weeks because they were so busy so I had to rent a vehicle. $1750 to replace brake sensors which they said could not communicate with the brakes.?? first time Ford has been able to diagnose system.

On Saturday, 8-18-18, at about 10:15 am, turned left onto woodward avenue heading North (fast lane - 3rd lane from the right), in the middle of the historic woodward dream cruise. I got a red message to pull over to a safe place. This was very distressing as there were a lot of vehicles doing the cruise and no safe or free place to actually park a disabled vehicle. Limp-along mode got me off woodward looking for a place to pull over. A couple blocks down, it died at a stop light in a residential neighborhood. I figured some software gremlin had killed my car, so I called a tow truck. (side note - the dream cruise is about classic cars! many of which tend to break down! it was quite the wait for a tow!) when the Ford service advisor turned my key in the ignition, it started right up. I left the car to make sure it wouldn't die on me again. Yesterday, Friday, 10-12-18, I pulled into a parking lot to return a call. After about an hour in the parking lot with the heat at 70, the car died again. What was the $307.73 on the same problem in August for if the same scary thing happened again"! I see on the internet that I'm not the only person who experienced this very scary safety hazard! can you imagine driving along and your car just decides to stop" it is scary. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

December 31, 2018 ' while driving through city, I attempted to use the brakes and they did not response. I was able to cut the engine and pull over to the side of the road with spouse and children in vehicle. Error message stating ABS brake system was not responding and a false positive tire sensor. January 2, 2018 ' took car into dealership. Technicians unable to replicate problem though they found the error code in system. Technician replaced brakes, calipers, and reset error code. January 27, 2018 ' same error message occurred with brakes failing in apartment parking lot. Car parked and error message went away. January 31, 2018 ' same error message occurred and added an advancetrac service error message. Brakes failed to work. Upon researching issue with vehicle, I came across a consumer report which describes our problem exactly. Called dealership and currently working at trying to solve problem. Dealership stated if it was a software update, they wouldn't charge for the labor involved to update it. If software update failed to solve the problem, they would charge for assessment, parts, and labor to repair. Do not have a record of receiving mailing about the repair problem for this issue as the vehicle was purchased in 2013.

Had to replace front wheel bearings 1000+ after only 80,000 miles. Additionally, had to replace a speaker for the back up system. What kind of idiots are they. Safety issue: I also to have throttle body work done 2 years ago and the last 10 days, 31 July to 9 Aug, have had 6 episodes of the wrench light coming on with two of them resulting in sudden deceleration on the freeway.

Car told me to pull over safely. Everything locked up. The steering wheel got real tight and would not turn. I took it to a Ford dealership to have fixed and they said the power steering box went out. The car was in motion. I was on my way to work.

I was just driving along on a city street going about 40 mph, and all of a sudden all the dashboard lights lit up, and I couldn't break very easily. I was in the middle of traffic, and I was worried someone was going to hit me, or I wasn't going to be able to break if someone cut me off. My car had been so reliable until that moment. My car didn't break the way it always did. It took a lot more pressure to break than normal, and the breaking was very delayed. I had a few very close calls, before I could pull over. It was scary! the dealership had to replace my ABS module and my hydraulic control unit, which was very expensive. I know the NHTSA is looking into many complaints of the same issue for 2010 Ford Fusion. If other vehicles are having the same issue, this should be a recall!

Airbag switches under driver seat and front passenger seat are always getting thrown and cause airbag light to go off in dash. There needs to be a better item that is not so sensitive to people riding in the back seat. When they put their feet under the front seats it throws the switch and causes the airbag light to come on in the dash.

When attempting to open the driver's side door to get out of the vehicle the handle will pull as if to open however the door will not open. The spring inside the driver's side door handle broke preventing occupants from opening the door from the interior of the car. In order to open the door the occupant must roll the window down and open the door using the exterior handle. Speaking to a Ford representative they notified me this is a common issue with the Fusion models.

While exiting the vehicle, the left-front interior door handle broke on it's lower-left corner. Because of the breakage, the door will only lock with the interior door lock. Pressing the lock button on the key fob locks all doors except the left-front.

Driving at highway speeds, normal operation, in sunny conditions when I lost acceleration ability and was only able to coast. The yellow wrench indicator came on (no check engine light). I was fortunate enough to move to the should safely since there was limited traffic on the highway and I was driving in the right lane. I cycled the car off and on and was able to resume normal operation. This same situation happened twice more in city driving before I could get into the dealer for an appointment. Eventually the dealer evaluated the vehicle and replaced the electronic throttle body.

I was traveling approximately 55 mph under normal driving conditions when the car lost power and I was able to drift to side of road. Wrench light came on. I waited a few minutes and restarted the car. It idled rough at first but I was able to continue the drive home without incident. I researched this problem on the internet and discovered that Ford Fusion of my year and mileage were experiencing this issue. The first recommended coarse of action was to use a throttle body cleaner. I did this and the car seemed to operate fine under conditions 25 mph. I set off to work on the 6th and the car shut off on me six times before I could make it twenty miles and get back to the house. This is an obvious manufacturers defect and needs to be handled appropriately.

Why has nothing been done yet? I'm a fairly poor upstanding member of society, and I was trying to be green. Now I'm stuck with a $16,000 go cart that I cant drive on a highway because it can't go over 35mph. I had 2 yellow wrenches on my dash. I was stuck in a one lane rode with no place to pull over and about 100 people honking at me. I have been a faithful Ford owner for over 13 years; I've been telling my friends and co-workers how great they are. Now I have to beg for them to fix my car, or I can go get ripped off by my local dealer. Please help. I thought you people were better than this.
