The Ford Edge Flexplate issue has been extended to 2019-2020 Ford Fusion:
Customer Satisfaction Program 22N12 Certain 2015-2018 Model Year Edge, 2019-2020 Fusion and MKZ Vehicles Equipped with a 2.0L EcoBoost Engine and 6F35 Transmission Rattle Noise at the Transmission Bellhousing Area – Flexplate Cracks
Update from Dec 29, 2023 Ford allegedly replaced the Flexplate at no charge. I am not sure about rental car or towing yet
