On or about 6 June of 2019 the breaks failed on a hill in San Francisco, and the car started backing down the hill. I took it to a dealer in Rio Vista Ca. They had is for two weeks replacing various parts including a master cylinder...
When I got it back the brakes were soft and spongy and would fade to the floor... I was told that that’s the way they act. Fast forward to September 6, when the brakes failed on Hwy 12 causing an accident. Rio Vista Ford refused to stand accountable so the car was taken to Big Valley Ford in Stockton. It was three weeks in the body shop, then the car moved to service dept. The service dept. said they couldn’t find problem. They called me to come in.
Took a test drive with the head service mechanic, he was driving. I asked him to come to a stop and to hold his foot on the brake...
BINGO... the pedal faded to the floor. I asked him to pump the breaks twice and hold them on with his foot. Again it happened. We returned to the service dept and he (the mechanic) informed him that the car had NO BRAKES. They were fading...
Three days later I was notified that the issue was a computerized break module, and one was ordered. At this tome, October 7, the car has been in the shop over a month. My insurance is 1000. A dollar deductible on the accident - for a problem that was never fixed in the first place...
