On Saturday [XXX] I noticed when I opened my driver side door, the dash light & the light on my touch screen began flickering. I didn't think much about it at the time, but the next day, [XXX] as myself & my wife were traveling on the highway, I tried to turn on my cruise control but it would not come on. I then tried to adjust my stereo volume on the steering wheel & it wasn't working either. Well, the next day I checked the fuses & they were fine, so that's when I went online & found out that the clock spring in the steering wheel could most likely be the problem. Well I decided to dig a little deeper into the matter & I found out that some 2016 Ford trucks had been recalled because of faulty clock springs which also could cause the airbag not to deploy when needed. I was just told by an employee from a local Ford Dealership that the 2016 Ford Fusion was not a part of that recall, which I believe should have been a part of that recall, because I'm pretty sure that the same clock springs that were used in those 2016 trucks, were used in the 2016 Ford Fusions. I would like to ask that you would please look into this mater, because this is a serious mater, & I think Ford needs to fix this problem. They should be responsible for all of their vehicles with these bad clock springs & not just those trucks only. Thank you for your time & all you do to keep us safe on the road. God Bless you all! The brake lights stay on even after the car has been turned off. There was no warning. The brake bushing? had to be replaced. This is a known problem of 2012 - 2015 models and I believe 2016 has the same issue.

Approximately 3 weeks ago my teenage driver called me at work to inform me that his display was "black" and he had no radio. When asked to provide more details, he said that the display screen in the care, which is a touchscreen that is divided into 4 sections (phone, navigation, climate, radio) was not functioning like intended. This screen also displays the backup view when in reverse. He also stated that there is no radio, his phone does not connect via Bluetooth as it did previously to allow for hands-free driving. My son said the screen was functioning as intended when he parked his car for the night, but upon starting the next day it was black- no warning or other symptoms of this problem. We had the car evaluated at the Ford dealership and told it could be two things, but unsure which-tech said have to fix one first and if that doesn't work then the other. APIM failure is one of the two potential problems. My son is a teenage driver, the lack of Bluetooth connectivity and the safety net of the backup display poses a risk for (1) driving distraction related to inability for hands-free driving (2) backup rearview display and additional alerts while car is in reverse malfunctioning increasing the likelihood of collision when in reverse. Ford has known issues with APIMs in various 2017 and newer makes/models.

While in motion the ABS light, traction on/off, and hill assist is not available is lit up. Also, the speedometer is sporadic. Haven't had any work done recently so that isn't the cause.

When pushing the start button, the car struggles to start. The battery was checked and no problems were found. Sometimes the car does not detect when the drivers seatbelt is not on while driving or sitting still. The beeping sounds the car typically makes when backing, alerting the driver is a completely different sound now. Other beeping noises are also different sounds and pitches. The engine light turns on and off. Faint scratching noise under the hood. Windows will go down by themselves.

My vehicle was parked in front of my house (thank god) and when I started it, 3 alarms came on and I was not able to move the steering wheel. Had this happened while I was driving, I would most certainly been in an accident. The issue is the entire electronic steering system failed. Whole component needs to be replaced. Exactly one year to the day after the last electrical failure.

I was driving on the highway and the main screen in the center of the dashboard turned off and had the message 'turning off system to save battery'. this was not an accurate projection by the car system being that I just recently installed a brand new battery a couple of days prior. As the car system continued to shut down, the alert of 'system charging service now' showed up on the dash. Following that message the power steering completely shut down. Shortly there after, the entire electrical system shut down in my car. Lights, steering, dashboard, electronic seats, doors, gear shift, everything! this all happened in the span of 1 minute or so on a highway at 11pm at night. I almost got into an inescapable acccident trying to find somewhere to get the car off the highway. Shortly there after the engine also cut off due to not getting any power from the car system. This is very unfortunate because this car is only 2 years old and I bought the car brand new off the lot.

Spent several hundred $ S' having hid headlamps installed which helped, cannot drive after dark, because I can't see the side of the road at all when turning in either direction, have almost been hit twice, I have a safe driver, license and do not want to be in an accident, this vehicle is useless if I cannot drive at night when needed, I see this vehicle is also listed as having bad lighting on your website, F or motor co should have a recall to replace the substandard headlamps on this vehicle, worst I have ever encountered in my life !

This vehicle has had a dead battery 2 times after sitting overnight. No extra power draws we added. The last resulted with the engine light on once it was jump started. The engine code that was on was a P068A ECM/PCM power relay de-energized performance. It will be scheduled to go to the dealership to try to resolve this issue

This vehicle has had a dead battery 3 times after sitting overnight. No extra power draws we added. The last resulted with the engine light on once it was jump started. The engine code that was on was a P068A ECM/PCM power relay de-energized performance - too early. This vehicle has already been brought into the dealership where they performed a battery test and reprogrammed the modules. This was less than 1 month till it happened again

Auto headlights delay setting in Ford Fusion. I took a rental car and ensured the lights were set to automatic. There is a hidden feature in Ford Fusion where we can set a delay for the lights to turn on. I entered a tunnel which is completely dark and no lights were there inside the tunnel. I could not see anything as the lights didn't turned on. I fortunately met with a small incident but this hidden feature doesn't make any sense. I drove other vehicles where in automatic lights switch on immediately. I am unaware of this setting as I don't own this car. Please ensure manufacturer disables this setting and they ensure safety of Ford users. The rental company declined to accept it as their fault but I want someone like NHTSA contact rental car companies to disable these settings and also contact the manufacturer and understand the benefit of this setting. As per me it is a risky setting without much positive benefits. I want to ensure safety of other Ford users.

I have noted, when passing newer Ford Fusion during non-daylight hours, that the headlights project brightly out of the side of the lens and slightly backward, to the point of being distracting and causing me to wince. I have not noted this to occur when passing any other vehicles but have noticed it when passing several newer Ford Fusion. It appears that the light emission pattern for the headlight assemblies is the contributing factor.

The insurance institute for highway safety has rated "marginal" the headlight effectiveness for the 2016 Ford Fusion. I think Ford should replace the headlights which is a safety issue and an expensive proposition.

This was a rental od 11433 miles. Driving at night I activated the right turn signal and the right head lamp bulb went out. I repeated this signal left and the left head lamp bulb went out. When signaling was complete the head lamp came back on. I could not latch the high beam by the turn signal lever. It had to be manually held. These same repeated actions were done with the same results. On an until area a person at a corner may not have been visible? night two of driving the rental all worked and functioned properly as designed. All turn signal / head lamp bulb in addition to engaging and dis engaging high beams.
