I have a 2015 Ford Fusion with around 157k miles. I bought this used at a dealer in Jan 2023 and it drove very well. I drive a lot of miles every week for work (around 500 miles), so I needed a good dependable used car. Car drove well for the first three months, until the first of many "wrenches" popped up. Engine started shaking, no acceleration, hard shifting. Read the codes and got P0100, P0103, P0104. This led me to my first MAF sensor replacement. Codes cleared and back on the road.
Three month later, same "wrench" and same codes. This has been going on every three months since I bought the car. I spent so much time researching, chasing down potential problems. Replaced MAF sensor 5 times, replaced battery, replace air intake hose, cleaned the throttle body, tried to chase down a vacuum leak, replaced spark plugs, soon to replace injectors and fuel rail. I don't use the air conditioner because it will cause the problem. Been told that it may be purge valve, catalytic convertor, O2 sensors, electrical short, and PCM / ECM. I can't find any help online to point me in the right direction. I am spending too much money replacing parts even when I don't know if this will fix the problem. I just don't know what else to do.
