Percolating, rumbling noise when gas tank is full coming from driver's side rear. Recorded it numerous times on iPhone. Sent it to dealership and salesman and they acknowledge the noise. They've had car numerous times and cannot isolate noise, but my research indicates it comes from the gas tank. Dealership has been very helpful, including salesman; however, problem still remains. I love the car, but I want to trade in if not corrected. Dealership not giving me desirable deal on new model. Will explore my options.
Gas tank making noise took to dealer twice. Ford store said they couldn't hear it. Took to another Ford dealer, they heard the noise and replaced gas tank. Still makes noise. Ford sent tech out to check car, he said it is a characteristic of Ford Fusion. I would not have bought a brand new car if I had heard noise. It started 5 months after I purchased. First Ford last Ford. So many problems. Ford is not resolving issue.
The following TSB covers the same issue with the 1.5L Engine but apparently does not take care of the same problem in the 2.5L. The Ford Dealership does not seem to think it is an issue with the annoying noise.
