When driving the car will stall out and die in the driving state. This occurs without warning from any sensor light error warnings. After acceleration to 35 it will sputter as if the fuel is not flowing, yet then it will correct but stall and completely die during operation while driving. Have had both the upper and lower full pumps installed within the last calendar yet still currently having the problem or issue. I've had my Ford Fusion SE ecoboost 1.5, 2014 in for service on 2 separate occasions a day apart for the same reoccurring problems. The first service there was the actions done related to recalls which are consistent with 20S15 A-C and recall 23E03 B. The reasons for my Ford Fusion 1.5 to have been brought to the Premier Ford, Waveland, Ms was as follows: The temperature overheat lamp light was jared, there was 3 leaks from the overheat, there was a Shutter and sounds that came from the engine, (LIMP*)and there was no fuel power through acceleration. There had been moisture located on exhaust before brakedown without having been driven for approximately 10hrs before brakedown. 2ed service was as follows: temperature overheat lamp light jared, no power through fuel to accelerate, and issues starting. LIMP* I had not on this brakedown paid attention to if my Fusion needed water, the engines performance in regards to shakes or sounds nor did I look to notice nor did I look for leaks. I called directly to Premier Ford, Waveland and had my Ford towed in. The service was as follows: 1) 3U2Z*14S411 WPT988 WIRE ASY 2) DS7Z*8501 PW556 PUMPASP-WATER 3) BE8Z*8507 GASKET-WATER PUMP 4)VC 3801132 ANTI-FREEZE 5) 6 BM5Z*6K2543*S437 SCREW 6) BM5Z*6K254 TENSIONER - TIMING BELT With the parts $261.44 Labor $1748.99 misc charges $50 for a total of after taxes $2204.66 I picked up my Ford Fusion on October 4, 2024 and on October 9, 2024 I went beck to the Premier Ford and spoke with the service department because I had to stop and let my Fusion cool every 20 to 30 minutes, I stated that there was some loss of water and it was overheating, the power train light warning notify me of an issue, and that my Fusion would not go over 80miles per hr. The service department associate seemed frustrated with me and argued the fact that it had ran hot and said that the reason for the speed issue was that the lamp was Identifying the keylock complete on pdf
On [XXX] ford premier out of waveland evaluated my car after I had to have it towed in due to overheating. The high temperature warning notification was lock and wouldn't change to normal after it cooled. I was not fully aware of my car overheating due to no warning other the the temperature overheat warning. A couple of days prior without driving it for 10hrs I noticed a moist to the exhaust pipe. When it broke down the engine had a misfire, a shake, and had not power to the engine to accelerate. There was 3 different puddles of fluids underneath the car. When I had spoke to the service department on this breakdown I made them aware of everything with one of the Mechanics witnessing the shake within the engine. There was a confusion on my part due to the sticker showing a 1.5l and my Insurance showing through carfax a 2.5l with also Descripting a 1.5l that showed for my car to be compatible to a 2.0l, 1.6l Installation of coolant system, that of which lead me to request recalls through Vin# on [XXX] through Verified and it was shown to be compatible for recall. Premier Ford service department Assured me that nothing was wrong with the coolant system that the power train control module reprogramming took care of the breakdown. He assured me when I picked up my car That nothing was wrong with my car. Except for me needing to go, change the brakes so that he could change the brake hoses that are part of the recall associated with the brakes. This was on [XXX]. On [XXX] I broke down again with the same issue with this time before the breakdown there was a stall when I started my car And when they had my car on [XXX] I asked them the check the Fuel Injections and he stated there was nothing wrong with the fuel injections. My car has shown every sign that shows through the coolant system of a fire hazard. I am requesting that the Department to assign the safety recall 17s09 to my vin# [XXX]. The flex plate on my vehicle was cracked. Which damaged the transmission pump. We heard what sounded like a box of rocks which quickly got louder and louder we took the car to the dealer the next day. We had no other warnings something was wrong no engine light or anything. Had this plate broken completely we likely would have crashed and our small children could have been hurt. We took it to our local Ford dealer who diagnosed the issue, but would want over $6000 to fix the issue, on top of the $225 we paid to get the issue diagnosed. So for the forseable future we have no safe vehicle.
Fuel tank: Tank leaked when it was filled. Most of the time in my driveway but occasionally in parking lots unstil the tank level was reduced to approximately 3/4 filled. In addition fumes would fill the air surrounding the car. The automobile is being currently repaired at an independent repair facility. No other inspection other than repair facility. Initially no warning light but as it progressed the "check engine light" lit. Inspected the removed gas tank at repair facility and the caused of the problem may be a design flaw. the tank design on my vehicle (all wheel drive) is such that it has two zones and each zone has a fuel pump. The retaining plates on the tank are made of metal and therefore due to New England winters and the position of the tank and the location of the tank the retaining plates rust. This resulted in the retaining plates to rust leaving pin holes in the retaining rings causing gas and fumes to exit the fuel system.
Codes P0300 P0301 P0316 - My son was driving and approached a red light - his car began to idle rough and check engine light came on. Instructed him to park the car and we towed to a local mechanic. Cylinder 1 was misfiring and also had a mix of oil, fuel and possibly coolant in Cylinder 1. Apparently this is a defective issue with a 2014 Ford Fusion with a 2.0 Ecoboost Engine and also lawsuits regarding this. Ford dealership confirmed this is a sore issue with Ford and referred to Ford Customer Service --- no assistance and just advised to hold onto receipts in case it is a recall issue -- this is not okay at all. Ford has had plenty of opportunities to correct this with Ford Fusions but still have not!!!!! Very very very upset!!!
Car started making a loud noises from the back of the car when sitting idle in traffic. Noise got louder when opening gas cap. Once refueled the car failed to restart (turn on then shut off right away) and gave run, power, active message and engine light came on. After several tries and leaving foot on brake after pushing start and putting into gear right away the car stayed running. This leads me to believe this is the purge valve as many others have had the same issue. Ford issued a recall on the Focus and earlier model Fusions for this issue but has not included the 2014 yet.
Unknown but every time I get gas my car basically tries to stall out or does stall out. Has stalled out 2x while at a red light. Has been happening the entire time I have owned this car. Over a year and half
My engine light came on. Code is PP0456 - evap leak. Dealer found that gromet/seal on tank is failing. This part is not serviceable, so the entire fuel tank needed to be replaced. After dealer discount, the cost was $2242.24. Dealer is Larry H. Miller Ford, Mesa, AZ, phone (480) 530-9600. I have owned many Ford vehicles since 1978 and never experienced such an expense. In my opinion, this is a design issue since the rubber seal is not serviceable. This experience is causing me to lose faith in the Ford brand. Is FMC willing to assist with this expense? Please note - this vehicle has only been serviced at the dealership.
Mu 2014 Ford Fusion Titanium hesitates to start back up after fueling and needs to be repeated multiple times, pumping the gas pedal for a few tries before it eventually stabilizes, accompanied by a very intense odor of exhaust. Final Verdict: Emissions Purge Valve Assembly failure
Vehicle's gas peddle becomes unresponsive/locks while in operation. Twice this has occurred at top speeds of 65 on major highways and thankfully, in situations where I could pull onto a median. That said, this is a very dangerous situation regardless and should substantiate an investigation as it's apparent I'm not the only one who's experienced this. In addition to this, the vehicle refuses to turn over when filled with gasoline.
As I was driving on the highway at 65mph my car stopped accelerating as I was driving. I had to cut my car off as to 'restart' it would allow me to drive a short distance. Thank goodness I was not far from home. This has never happened and I had no warning or indication that something was wrong. I just got an oil change 2 weeks ago and I keep up on maintenance on my vehicle. I went to the internet and researched the issue and I came across a bunch. This is an issue that should be recalled because this can cause a health and safety hazard while driving.
I've had my car for 5 years. 6 months after I purchased it it started showing transmission issues. It's almost like it gets stuck in a gear when trying to accelerate, and then it flings your forward. When driving up a hill it won't go over 30mph. I took it in over 2 years ago to Ford and was told a transmission recall for 2014 Ford Fusion was coming. 2 years later and I'm being told my car doesn't qualify but is showing all the signs that's listed on the recall. Just last week my car shut off while driving on the freeway with my kids in the car. Since it's happened 3 times. Since it started shutting off while driving a new issue has progressed. My car now jerks when trying to accelerate. If I have the heater in it smells like something is burning. We used a code reader and it told us transmission issues but Ford still says I don't qualify.
The contact owns a 2014 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while the vehicle was idling, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle hesitated. The contact contacted a certified mechanic who informed the contact that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle had not been repaired. A dealer was not contacted or notified of the failure. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 134,567.
When fueling the tank vehicle will not stay running. Engine starts and then dies. This goes on up to five minutes then engine stays running with no check engine light on. Check codes there is P1450 stored. Other times it happens after driving and turning engine off and then re starting a few minutes later, sometimes the engine stutters and dies after driving which can be in a parking lot or make to the highway stop at a stop lights which gets really scary when other traffic is around. I look up my VIN for recalls it shows none. It starting happening a while back just once in a while accurrence, now everytime I fill up.
