While pulling into a parking spot in the afternoon car suddenly accelerated and jumped curb. The car wouldn't brake. It came to a stop when I hit a parked car. Lots of damage on both cars. After I had body repaired I refused to drive until completely serviced. Of course unable to duplicate, but even Service manager couldn't guarantee wouldn't happen again. He put that in writing to Corporation.
After much going back and forth with Corp they refused the claim because error code didn't show up. After accident apparently codes frequently don't show up. Now the car had regular service 2 weeks before this. At that time they also did a recall which had to do with being able to pull out key when car not in park. This means they were working on computer, but service manager said that couldn't be it?
So after an incident that has actually made me anxious to drive Ford Corp has done nothing. This was a lease and we went through our dealer to return car for another Ford. We've been buying Fords for 20 years. Ford will sell that car and hopefully it never duplicates this problem. We're out thousands of dollars. Our insurance company paid for everything. Ford corp paid for a couple weeks rental.
