For the second time in less than a year there is a major engine issue. The vehicle system report shows a misfire.

The first time we use a reputable independent mechanic who replaced the short block with all Ford parts that had a 2 year warranty. This time we wanted to take it to a dealership because the mechanic we used before is backed up with work. The dealer says it needs a whole new engine, but they will not honor the warranty on the short block from Ford. Neither the independent mechanic nor the dealership can tell us what has caused the problem, We bought this car used from a fleet company, but the person who had had it for a company car is family and never had a bit of trouble out of the car. If we do not get the warranty on the short block and still have to pay for full price for a new engine we will have almost bought this car 2 times.

WE HAVE TAKEN THIS 2014 FUSION BACK FOR REPAIRS NUMEROUS TIMES AND ACTUALLY GAVE FORD THE "LAST ATTTEMPT TO FIX" WE ARE WAITING ON FORD TO REPURCHASE THIS CAR. THE PROBLEM IS ONGOING FROM THE GET GO A CONSISTENT SKIP OR MIS FIRE THAT YOU CAN ACTUALLY FEEL WHILE DRIVING. WHEN THIS OCCURS YOU CAN LOOK QUICKLY AT THE TACHOMETER TO SEE A SLIGHT DIP OF THE NEEDLE. FORD TOOK THIS CAR IN AND REPLACED THE IGNITION COIL PACKS AND PLUGS ON CYLINDERS 3 AND 4. I HAVE RESEARCHED THIS PROBLEM AND NOW I UNDERSTAND THAT THE COILS GET HOT AND BURN OUT, HOWEVER REPLACING THEM IS NOT A FIX IT IS A BANDAID....THE LAST ATTEMPT WAS ON DEC.16 AND THE FORD REP. SAID HE EXPERIENCED THE PROBLEM HOWEVER THE FUSION ON THE DEALERSHIP LOT ALSO HAD SIMILAR PROBLEM, HE CLOSED OUT THE REPAIR AND LEFT TOWN.WE WERE CONTACTED BY FORD CORP. OUT OF MICHIGAN AND WERE TOLD THEY WERE WORKING ON OUR SETTLEMENT -REPURCHASE REQUEST FORM WE HAD MAILED IMMEDIATELY AFTER FORD FAILING TO REPAIR ON FINAL ATTEMPT. I HAVE SPOKEN TO LEMON LAWYER OUT OF ATLANTA AND HE HAS INSTRUCTED ME TO WHAT AND WHEN TO DO IT ON EACH STEP OF THIS PROCESS.

Update from Feb 3, 2015: JAN.15 WE WERE NOTIFIED BY FORD MOTOR CO. THAT THEY WERE NOT GOING TO "BUY BACK" THIS DEFECTIVE FUSION. I WAS INSTRUCTED BY THE LEMON LAW LAWYER TO SUBMIT AN ARBITRATION FORM WHERE BOTH FORD AND MYSELF MEET WITH A MEDIATOR TO DECIDE FOR CONSUMER OR THE COMPANY. I'M STILL WAITING ON THE DATE TO BE SET, BUT HAVE NOTIFIED FORD SEVERAL TIMES BY EMAIL AS TO MY COMPLAINT AND AN OUTCOME. THEY DID RESPOND AND DISMISSED MY REQUEST AND SAID I COULD GO THROUGH BBB FOR MEDIATION. I ASKED THEM JUST WHAT WAS I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH A CAR THAT FORD CAN NOT FIX? I SUPPOSE THEY THINK I WILL GET FRUSTRATED AND TRADE IT...NO CHANGE. DRIVE IT UNTIL I AM STRANDED ON THE SIDE OF THE ROAD...PROBABLE. I DO HAVE ALL CONFIDENCE IN WINNING THIS CASE AGAINST FORD MOTOR COMPANY ACCORDING TO THE LAWS ESTABLISHED IN THE "LEMON LAW"
