CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

Car displayed "power steering assist fault" and would not start, this happened 3 times in the last month, I got it started by removing and replacing the # 19 fuse even though the fuse had not failed.. I took it to Sunset Ford in Sumner Wa, who could not replicate the problem. It failed again a few days later, this time while at Korum Ford in Puyallup Wa. for an oil change service, the car was on their service apron and would not start. It is there now where they hopefully can diagnose and repair it. Since I rely on a car to get to work, having something unreliable is simply not an option. The car was in Korum Ford again last winter with a no start condition for over a week, that time for a "body position sensor". This kind of nonsense is completely unacceptable considering the number of reliable vehicles available.
I'm very disappointed with this vehicle and Ford in general and will not be buying another one of their products any time soon.
