CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario. Read more »
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?
About 1 month ago I noticed that when I filled up the gas tank the fuel level gauge didn't go to its usual spot (just to the right of the F) but rather to the left of the E. I thought maybe I didn't gas it up right or something with the gas pump so I thought nothing of it. It happened again the next time I fueled up. Now I knew something was up with this and is not right. The next week it filled up correctly and then back again so it is intermittent. It is annoying and shouldn't be doing that for a new car. I am going to complain to the dealer since I am bringing it in for other things.
Fuel tank will not accept the stated capacity of 16.5. Filling up from empty to the first click off of the pump is consistently only 13 gal. able to put another .5 gal with multiple click off of pump. after filling up the tank is down to 3/4 within 50 miles. the rest of the tank will average 100 mi per 1/4 tank. If the system does have a 3 gallon reserve this seems like a waste of tank space. most reserve capacity is 10% stated capacity which would make the 2013 fusion 16.5 gallons.
