Unintended Acceleration
2013 Ford Fusion
This problem may be covered under warranty. Ask your Ford dealer.
CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

I was driving on the freeway at 65 mph with my husband and son. All of a sudden the car accelerated and would not stop. I pumped the brakes , when I realized that was not working I put my foot on the brake all the way. The car finally started to slow down but would not completely and the engine was still in acceleration. When I was able to slow it down to a safe enough speed, I put the car in park and turned the engine off. We were able to get it to a dealership 2 miles away where it has been there since. The dealership is great, its Ford Corporate that is the problem. This is a major safety recall that needs action right away. We have been without a car for over 2 weeks. The dealership and Ford Corporate stated they have not seen anything like this. Ford Corporate has walked through steps with the technicians to try and fix the issue. They have replaced many parts and failed at every attempt. They still do not know what is wrong and refuse to accommodate us in any way. I cant even get a return call from Ford Corporate. Time for a lawyer.
