CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?
RIDICULOUS THAT FORD DOESN'T KNOW HOW TO PAINT METAL. Aluminum hood edge paint peeling - I'm sure to improper metal preparation (I'm a chemist). They hide behind the warranty period except everywhere I look I see the same problem. Nothing new. It's up to Ford if they want this as advertisement of their product. I won't buy another Ford ever.
Bought this car with less than 36,000 miles complained to them about the bubbles on the hood, they said they would not fix it till the paint came off. That was the ford dealer in Shippensburg PA. If that is Fords official line they are crazy. This is serious the problem is growing and I wonder if the whole hood is a problem. Always been a Ford guy. But this is terrible. I have heard of people getting things like this fixed and it shows up the next year.
There is no reason for that. I used to paint cars for a living.
Ford vehicles Focus, Edge, Explorer and Fusion all exhibit the same bubbling of paint on the edge of the hood line. My silver 2013 Ford Fusion Energi Hybrid exhibits this exact issue with no resolution by Ford due to a quoted "perforation" clause in the corrosion warranty. Recommend a class action lawsuit for all owners.
