CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

My backup camera began malfunctioning randomly about 3 months after the warranty ran out. Once it got to be really annoying (would only work 1 day a week if I was lucky) I took it to the dealership. They couldn’t figure out the problem, and ended up doing an update and reset on my SYNC system. The camera worked normally for about a week and then slowly began messing up again. Sometimes the screen wouldn't change at all (it would stay on the four sections while I was in reverse), sometimes the screen would go all black, and sometimes it would scroll and be fuzzy. It started by only happening once or twice a week. Within a month it was happening 3-4/5 times of being in reverse. I took it back to the dealership. They said they did get an error code for the camera, but they checked all the wiring and couldn’t find a problem, so they believe it is the camera. They want to charge me over $700 for a new camera.
