CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2013 Fusion doesn’t have the same track record of power steering failure as the previous 3 model years. Of course, those owners said their steering failed at 60k–100k miles. So this appears to be a classic "wait and see" scenario.
In the meantime, there’s plenty of interior accessory problems to complain about. By themselves, each is a barely a blip on the radar. But combined, they give you that feeling of what the hell have I gotten myself into?

The drivers door flew open while I was driving. The door would not latch after it opened on its own. This is the second time this has happened to me on this vehicle, yet my car is not included in the recall for this problem NHTSA campaign number: 15V246000. The reason for this is the recall is for vehicles made up until 5-31-13, and my door sticker reads 6-13. My vehicle is obviously still affected by the issue and in fact my original window sticker is dated 5-29-13 and should be included in the recall. I do not feel the vehicle is reliable or safe to drive....updated 03-10-16 updated 04/25/18

The vehicle was repaired; however, the failure occurred twice before with the front passenger door and rear passenger door. My door latches have broken on three of my four doors. Each time it is like pulling teeth to get a part. On the second time, I went in to get it fixed, it took 2 1/2 weeks. Asked dealership to check the other two doors, said fine. The next time I open the door that was "checked" door would not close.. had to bring it back and told them I would not leave with out other doors being fixed. The dealership fixed the broken one, but told me they can not fix the other one until it is a problem. The recall notice says wait for dealership to contact when parts available unless currently experiencing concern with vehicle. This is a hazard to my safety and other drivers. Allowing some one to drive with doors that can come loose, when 3/4 have had a issues. I don't feel safe. Plus I am paying for a car that is not fully up to standard. It is like driving a bomb with a clock that you don't know when it will go off. The dealership is hiding behind being a franchise and not part of Ford. People's safety should be the number one issues. If this is happening to me how many other people are on the road in the same situation.. thanks concern owner and driver
