And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that the check engine warning indicator illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the canister purge valve was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. Capital Ford (4900 capital blvd, raleigh, nc) was called and informed the contact of customer satisfaction program number: 16B38 (powertrain control module reprogramming and canister purge valve inspection). The contact was informed that the VIN was not applicable to the program. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that NHTSA was responsible for recalls being issued. The contact was referred to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 94,015.
