Car was driving fine no problems day before. Get up to take child to school start car, says service power steering soon, service advance track soon. Drop child off (less than 5 miles away), go back home park car, go to leave for work (same day) start car again now says service power steering now. Can hardly turn the wheel. Can't drive it like this to dangerous.

Turning onto a main highway, power steering went out. Was unable to make the turn, worked very hard to avoid traffic coming from both sides. Steering wheel would not turn. Wound up crashing into a stoplight. Took car to Ford dealer. Said electrical problem and they reset power steering. Now I have to pay $2,600 to have it fixed!! the power steering failure light did come on. Then turned off after I turned the car off. Then turned on again 4 days later. Tried to turn car off and restart car again and still no power steering available. This is becoming quite common for this model car because my daughter has the same car and had the exact same issue. Something has to be done, before someone gets killed. Always after the issue happens when driving car the engine shifts really hard, RPM's go up and then slams into gear!!!!
