CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.
And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

I purchased my Fusion in September of 2011, since then my Fusion has had transmission problems three different times. This problem was brought to my attention when my car was being serviced and the technician found my car leaking transmission fluid. First time I put it in the shop a seal had to be replaced and a half-shaft, second time the seal was defective and needed to be replaced again.
Now I have had to put it in the shop again and I'm now using my extended warranty, what is gonna happen when I have no warranty and this reoccurring problem happens again? I feel like sitting this car back on the lot and telling them what they can do with it! Oh by the way I have to pay a deductible this time to have it fixed, I'm at my wits end!
Update from Mar 22, 2014: Once again im making a complaint about my 2012 Ford Fusion. I had to take it to the dealership three times so they can replace the seal or halfshaft. I voiced my concern over this problem because I was worried it would eventually lead to transmission problems! Well lo n behold im about to take it back to the dealership for the fourth time because my transmission has heen shifting funny. I feel like driving this car off the nearest cliff!
