CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
The Electronic Power Assist Steering (EPAS) is a mess. It fails at an alarming rate. Don’t believe us? Take a look at NHTSA’s data on the subject.
And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

So, I bought a used 2012 Ford Fusion SEL Loaded (navigation, Back up camera, Sony surround etc) last year May from a dealer. I love fords as my dad has really only bought/used them his whole life and this was my first big car purchase( I financed it). So I said why not. Well about a year goes by and in early April whenever I would go between 10-27 MPH, the car shakes/Vibrates REALLY BAD. Also if you go real slow on left and right hand turns, it knocks very bad as well. Well at first, we took it in to the dealer and they said its either the drivetrain or quite frankly something as easy as new tires. Well I spent 750$ on tires and it did nothing. Now I am going back and forth with the dealer, calling and talking for hours, going up there etc and nothing is getting done. Today I finally get to go up there and see the issue but now they want me to maybe look into getting an new car and paying this car off. Worst thing is though is that while I have been paying about 70$ extra a month on my car payment, the payoff will still be 2-3,000 dollars less than what I owe. So I am stuck and honestly just don't want to deal with it right now.
