CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
Everyone says my car smells like muss or mold. The car has never been underwater (that I am aware of). Windows have always been up when car is not running.
We purchased a new 2012 Ford Fusion Sport in November 2011. At that time we noticed a not so bad order inside the car but gave it little notice, as it seemed to not be noticeable the longer we were inside the car. We thought it was coming from the leather seats and go away sooner or later. Last weekend we took a trip and left the car parked in 95 degree heat for two days. When we returned and opened the doors the acidic soured odor was to the point of being sickening.
The car just now has 4000 miles on it and has never had any thing spilled inside of it while we have have owned the car. We talked of selling the car but are not sure how much the odor would devalue it.
Other than the odor, it is a great car. Fuel mileage at 80 mph on the interstate was just over 25.5 mpg.
