CarComplaints.com Notes: Power steering problems started rearing their ugly head in the 2010 Fusion, so you'd think Ford had plenty of time to make sure those problems didn't creep into the 2012. But here we are.
And much like the power steering, we’re still seeing the same throttle body failures that started in 2010 continue in 2012.

When turning on the windshield wipers to low setting, they initiate at full speed with small breaks in between going to the correct set wiper speed. Have to turn off completely several times in order for the correct setting to register finally. Automatic transmission has hard slipping shifting going from 1st to 2nd gear when accelerating from a stopped position, very similar to the Ford Focus powershift transmission recall
Issue is with the intermittent wipers not properly working. What I have experienced over the past 2 years include 3 basic items, 2 are issues, one is not: 1) wipers work as needed, intermittent works when needed (auto sensing) or at the interval that would be normal. 2) wipers will be working properly and then just stop, even though it is raining steadily. Only way to get them to start is to turn the wiper switch to another setting. Will not ensure they keep working though. 3) wipers working with proper intermission, then turn on high with little to no rain. Only way to stop is to change the position on the switch. Any of these are random, there is not one instance that causes one of these to happen every time. Biggest concern is obviously the wipers not working in a steady or heavy rain causing visibility concerns. Again, this has been happening for the past couple of years, but most recently happened on July 19.
Car has unexpectedly turned temperature in car from normal to extremely hot. Has caused windshield to immediately fog and unable to see, including on highway at faster speeds. Appears to be issue affecting many others with similar years of Ford Fusion models, with no immediate fix. I myself was traveling at 65 miles per hour on highway when one of the first incidents occurred. I had another incident where the temperature of the air coming out of my vents went from air conditioned cool air to extremely hot. Wouldn't this potentially cause a lot of accidents?
Takata recall : the windshield wipers on my 2012 Ford Fusion do not work fast enough, even on their highest speed, in even moderately heavy rain. So when it rains hard or I am on the highway it makes it impossible to drive and can be very dangerous to drive in any weather conditions other than complete sun.the most recent occurrence of danger I experienced from the slow windshield wipers was in Georgia on the interstate and it was rainy and trying to go at least 60mph to keep up with traffic it was almost like driving blind. This needs to be addressed before myself, or someone else is seriously injured!
When the wipers are on intermittent they start running at full speed and do not stop until you turn it off. They replaced the wiper switch and it is still doing the same thing.

The transmission slams when shifting. Have had the computer reflashed at the dealership which fixed the problem for a few days. At about 30000 miles, the windshield wipers started going crazy (turning on/ off whenever, going different speeds whenever).
