CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.
The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.
And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

Definitely a serious danger depending on the situation. I left my car with Ford this morning and they were unable to replicate my findings. This is very strange. After I restarted the car multiple times the steering wheel released. After the fact, the car was making a funny clicking sound from the front end and not just when you would turn the wheels. The sound was not alike any universal or cb joint I have heard.. It seemed to be coming from forward movement rather than turning the steering wheel. It also began to steer really rough, similar to having a flat tire. After one more additional turnoff, the problem subsided. This is the fourth time in 2 months this has happened. Each of the four times had been below freezing overnight.
