CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.
The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.
And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

Car just loses power while driving. This is the 5th time it happened over a 5 month period. Thankfully it's never happened on the interstate, but has happened on 50 mph roads. Just had the Power Steering Gear Assembly replaced courtesy of Ford and thought that maybe that the loss of power was associated with that. Don't understand why the dealer didn't catch this problem, except for the fact that it happens intermittently. I generally turn off radio, AC, and unplug phone charger after it happens, thinking it's a battery issue. Reading Ford complaints on this site and others, I'm pretty sure it's the Throttle Body. Yesterdays incident was scary and frustrating. Until I can afford another car this is going to be my 'around town' car. Just don't feel safe driving this anymore.
