CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.

The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.

And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

My car is the biggest piece of sh*t I ever owned, these Fusions will start ticking if you let them sit for barely any time! If they sit longer than 4-5 days, they’ll start ticking like mine until you drive them all the time! If you own multiple cars, don’t let this one sit! The ticking gets very loud and incredibly annoying over time, to the point where you question if you still want to live anymore! DO NOT BUY A 2010-2012 FUSION!!!

I got this 2011 Ford Fusion in 2019 with high expectations! My family is a Ford family, I was raised to be able to tinker on basically any Ford up until they put every damn sensor under they could find under the hood. My car was perfect the first 8 months. I had to have a fuel injector replaced at about 140k miles, cost me $475. Engine light stayed on my dash due to a “check fuel inlet” light now going away, mechanic claimed it was due to me having no cap on my gas can, which this car doesn’t come with.

I was driving one night after having no issues all day, probably driving 100 miles for the day. Check engine light pops up flashing, car starts chugging about to stall. Pulled into the nearest parking lot and had it towed to a mechanic. I have to have my whole engine ripped out and replaced for $2200 due to my cylinder 6 not getting any compression or oxygen. Pain in the dick! This car has nickel and dimed me since I’ve gotten it.

I own a 2011 Ford Fusion SE with a 2.5L engine .. during the first winter when I started the car it sounded like a diesel engine until it warmed up...since then I have taken it to the dealer 3 times and ""have been advised this IS NORMAL""... I have talked to other owners with the same engine they do not have this problem ......Now I have the problem of noisy lifters once again it is not continuous once the engine is warm the noise disappears.. I am aware this engine has noisy fuel injectors but I am sure this is not the problem.....can anyone tell me how to solve the problem of noisy lifters (these cannot be adjusted) and can this cause any further engine damage?????

Update from Oct 4, 2017: Since I have first complained I have taken this vehicle to two other mechanics who state it is the Valve Lifters...went back to Ford dealership and the staff still didn't believe me...they said bring the car in again (4th time) and we will check it..............TRADED THIS PIECE OF JUNK FOR A MALIBU!!!!!
