CarComplaints.com Notes: The 2011 Fusion builds off the 2010's reputation. That's not a good thing.
The first thing that jumps out is the ridiculous amount of power steering complaints. It grinds, it squeals, and it eventually just fails.
And if losing power steering isn’t enough for you, how about a sudden loss of engine power? That combination is enough to achieve clunker status.

Ford Fusion 2011 had ticking problem for a couple of years now. Always maintenaced at suggested times and now claiming the cylinder wall between the 3rd and 4th cylinders is cracked. Only fix now is for new engine installation, cost of $6000. Car had been making the same noise for years, but now car is 4 months past 5 year warranty for time, but 9000 miles less than 60000 power train warranty. Dealership is claiming this to be a $6000 fix. Car has never shown engine to be overheated. At dealership, shown another Fusion on back lot with less miles that has the exact problem as mine. Is this an issue to be brought up with Ford? Have almost always purchased for vehicle throughout lifetime. Am ready to change my loyalties if this cannot be resolved for MUCH less.
