CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't

Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.

2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

Takata recall. I have a 2010 Fusion with a recall on the passenger side. I am told there are no parts available to repair it so I do not have full use of my vehicle since I can not use the front passenger seat. It seems the manufacturer should find alternate suppliers or provide a replacement until parts are available. I called my local dealer and was told there is nothing that can be done. Is the driver side airbag safe" can a malfunctioning passenger airbag injure the driver or rear seat passengers"

Takata recall. Ford motor recalled the car in July, 2016 and has failed and refused to fix the air bag or replace the car. I cannot allow any person to be in the car except for me, as it is too dangerous. Ford motor has recently issued a follow up letter with further delays to fixing my car. Ford has deliberately delayed the solution to the airbag, in order to force people like me to sell the car or use it as a trade in. In addition, while other manufacturers have replace the faulty airbag, Ford has not, and I am informed that Ford may seek be be released in the takata airbag bankruptcy.

Takata recall. I've spoken with two Ford dealerships, greenway Ford in orlando on 12/23 and norris Ford in baltimore on 1/11, both of whom stated that there aren't any airbags in inventory. Other sites seem to suggest the inventory problem should be solved by now. I received my notice of a recall months ago. My parents drive a Nissan versa, and their Nissan dealership just gave them a rental car to drive until the part comes in.
