It is now 2018 and according to one Ford dealer parts will not be available until spring and that is not a guarantee.

Takata recall. Ford motor recalled the car in July, 2016 and has failed and refused to fix the air bag or replace the car. I cannot allow any person to be in the car except for me, as it is too dangerous. Ford motor has recently issued a follow up letter with further delays to fixing my car. Ford has deliberately delayed the solution to the airbag, in order to force people like me to sell the car or use it as a trade in. In addition, while other manufacturers have replace the faulty airbag, Ford has not, and I am informed that Ford may seek be be released in the takata airbag bankruptcy.

My parents drive a Nissan versa, and their Nissan dealership just gave them a rental car to drive until the part comes in.
