CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't
Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.
2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

This car is so nice to look at ....like a beautiful woman. That is where it stops. I have had an assortment of stupid electrical issues ...interior plug inside driver window sticks at random, rear tail lights burn out within 2 weeks and had burn marks.....Both showed signs of over heated terminals. Now the more severe is, I lost power steering last fall and now just had the throttle body replaced. It is time to get rid of "her" and find a better ride....All of this took place with in 85000km to 104000 km. I had a Honda CRV for 16 years, 250000km, no issues!,!! The stupid thing I did was sell it a week before my latest major issue. Does that give a clue where I am going to start to see what is available? My other car I should have kept was my 2003 Escape. It was a very good SUV. NO issues. Stupid to have traded it in on this 2010 Fusion. Dam..
Update from Mar 24, 2015: My major complaint is Not the lights. It is the power steering screw up and some judge thinking there is no reason for compensation to those who have had it fail. Mine failed as well as the hundreds of others. A serious accident and death are not on my agenda due to this Ford product of poor design and build quality. ALL owners who have been in this situation must push the legal system to get this resolved. Having decision makers bought off to save money says very little as to the value of human life. Stand up and take charge of your rights for safe travel for you and your family and other people on the road!
