A short time later, the vehicle was restarted, and the ABS and service track control warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was put in reverse(R) when the contact observed the steering wheel was stiff and did not steer as intended. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
The contact owns a 2010 Ford Fusion. The contact stated while the vehicle was parked, the ABS warning light was illuminated and the message "Service Advancetrac" was displayed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer, where it was diagnosed that the wheel speed sensor had failed and needed to be replaced. The dealer replaced the wheel speed sensor and while attempting to reprogram the ABS module with the new wheel speed sensor, the ABS module failed to recognize the wheel speed sensor.
