CarComplaints.com Notes: Ford significantly updated the Fusion for the 2010 model year. We wish they hadn't
Throttle body issues have led to a ton of reports about a sudden deceleration and loss of power while driving. Ford issued a “customer satisfaction program” in March 2014 that, unsurprisingly, has left very few customers satisfied.
2010 is also the year we started seeing complaints about the power steering failing. Throttle and steering failure? Yeah, that’s why this is a clunker.

My 2010 Ford Fusion SEL appears to have the same issue that many others have had with the driver side front seat. I bought this vehicle back in 2017 as a second owner of the vehicle. The driver's seat heated seat option worked for a few weeks, but then one day I had this option turned on and it got very hot to the point to where I had to turn it off. There was also a smell in the car as if something were burning, so it did initially worry me that something was burning.
Anytime that I have attempted to use this feature since then, after pressing the button for this option, the lights will go out after about 2 seconds. The heated seat option no longer works in this vehicle and it was a nice option to have in the cold winter months. The passenger side front seat heated seat option works fine without any problems also. I do feel like this is an issue that FORD should have recalled and fixed on this vehicle.
I have done a lot of research on how to get this problem fixed, but it seems like there are many people out there with this exact same issue with this model car. I do plan on trying to fix this problem in the next few weeks to get ready for this upcoming winter. I do think that FORD should have stepped it up and fixed this problem for their customers and to make sure that there were no fires. I have seen it pictured where the wires have burned around the seat cushion area as it caught the bottom cushion on fire. Nice work FORD...
