Tried to brake as usual and brakes were not as responsive and needed more pressure/time to stop. ABS light came on shortly after. Ford believes that the cause is ABS module and/or ABS hcu (ABS pump motor failure). They are unable to determine actual cause until I py $3,000 to replace each potential issue. While brakes seem to operate ok now, the car needs more time to stop. Have seen multiple complaints online w the same issue (spongy brakes, ABS module failures). I have also been unable to obtain the recall replacement for passenger side airbag as they are short on parts.

Takata recall: I received a letter about the recall and that I would be contacted when parts were available. Months later I have now gotten a letter saying no parts are available so Ford will provide a rental car, but when I called the dealer they said they could not do that because the recall is years long. So it seems I am just driving in a known unsafe car with no recourse
Takata recall. I purchased this car from keith hawthorne Ford in March 2009. The car was new and now has only been driven 35,000 miles. I returned to them for servicing until 10/30/20014 (21,646 miles) for servicing. Because, I was not getting any answers concerning the recall, I then went to honest-1 for servicing until recently when my son told me to take it to a Ford dealership and they will take care of the recall. When the recall was announced, then the takata bankrupt announcement. I kept asking Ford dealerships. First keith hawthorne Ford, then performance Ford and now felix sabates Ford here in charlotte, nc all on South blvd.the status of the recall. The answers were. "takata went bankrupt. "we haven't received the part yet. We will call you when we get it." Hawthorne Ford never called! additionally, "they sent the wrong part." Now felix sabates just announced at my last servicing on 04/24/20018, (33,386 miles) "that I have gone beyond the limitation of the recall, and Ford is no longer required to honor the recall." I was also told that I received a letter announcing the recall. I did not received a letter announcing the recall! to say that I am upset is a understatement. I worry for my wife's safety every time she gets in the passenger seat anywhere we go. Respectfully submitted,
