This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
2006 Ford Fusion fails to start or even crank trying to start. Been to 3 different Ford dealerships in 3 states, Ohio, md., and now Illinois. All say that the computer testing shows nothing wrong, and consequently, they don't know what the problem is. But the problem remains. Car did not start at the md dealership and he put on a fuel pump but said that would probably not fix it. They say they can't fix the problem because they don't know what is causing the problem but yet the problem continues even acknowledging personally witnessing the problem. So Ford says live with the problem because they don't know what is causing the problem. Totally unsatisfactory. New car but can't be relied to start everytime and Ford doesn't know what to do about it. We want to give the car back early on its lease, replace car, give loaner to keep car on their lot to have time to figure out problem, take car to more sophisticated testing area to finally figure out what is wrong with this car.
