The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while driving approximately 30 mph the brakes failed and the pedal extended to the floor causing the vehicle to crash into a stationary truck. During the crash, the front end was damaged but the airbags did not deploy. No injuries were reported, no police report was taken and the vehicle was not towed. The cause of the failure was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were notified of the failure but no assistance was offered. The contact was notified that the vehicle was included in the NHTSA campaign number 19v904000(service brakes) and 21v158000(airbags) however, the parts to do the recall repairs were unavailable.The contact indicated that the vehicle had experienced the same failure listed in the recall and the manufacturer had exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The failure mileage was 169,000.
