The contact owns a 2008 Ford Fusion. The contact stated that while depressing the brake pedal to stop the vehicle, the pedal extended to the floor and the braking distance was extended. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer who diagnosed that the ABS Hydraulic Control Unit was faulty and needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The contact indicated that the vehicle was previously serviced under NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V904000 (Service Brakes, Hydraulic) however, the failure occurred. The manufacturer was notified of the failure however, no assistance was offered. The failure mileage was 220,000. Consumer stated he had recall on brake system and was repaired but lasted only 10 days. Brake fluid was flushed from DOT 3 to DOT4. Mechanic stated vehicle could not be repaired again but hydraulic box was needed. Consumer is still waiting for dealer to get back to him.
