This problem has been going on for months with this vehicle. We have spent several thousand dollars, numerous parts for the ABS brakes and oil leaks continually coming from the master cylinder. Problem never fixed, several mechanics could not figure out after replacing everything with the brake line and still brake goes to the floor. Very upset, this car is making us broke and still no recall!!?? Same problem every day with the car, unable to safely drive it.

When I drove over a manhole cover the ABS triggered and the brakes went to the floor. Afterwards the brakes remained soft and never recovered to satisfactory performance. This has reoccurred again and again without any improvement.

Had the car taken to Ford dealership and diagnosed. The problem was possibly with the HCU, and would require more diagnostics ($500). The HCU is a problem with 2007 Fusions as there is now an open investigation regarding the issue. My model is an AWD so the part is extremely expensive (in Canada - $1400+) and difficult to source. No aftermarket part was available for this fix since the last time I checked either. I hope Ford resolves this one because it's a serious (and expensive) safety issue.

Our 2007 has always had brake issues! The pedal goes to the floor frequently! They are also spongy all the time. I have replaced the brakes, Rotors, calipers constantly checking the brake fluid nothing seems to help was coming down an incline and couldn't get the car to stop breaks went to the floor and low and behold I now have to pay to repair someone else's vehicle after rear ending someone. The only bright side is there were no injuries!!!! Our car was in GREAT condition!

The local Ford dealer wants to replace the master cylinder, however, this seems more like an ABS issue. It usually does this when you slide a wheel on loose stone or ice.

Brake pedal going almost to the floor when braking the vehicle. I noticed that if I pump the brakes, the pedal will brake at higher level each time I press down. Annoying and potentially dangerous!

I had new bakes and calipers put on the car,...same brake problem was there,... I then had a new master cylinder installed,... problem still there!. Then my mechanic recently rechecks the brakes and bleeds brake lines, .... same problem still there. He then explains that after he googled the problem several times, it is probably a defect in the ABS system and that thousands other people have reported the same issue.

Now it is time for Ford to step up and fix the issue.

About once every two months, my wife complains that she'll push the brake pedal and it goes clear to the floor. If she releases and hits it again, it works. I've had it do it to me one time, it is a pretty bad feeling to not have brakes! I've put it off long enough; it's going to the shop to get checked out this week.
