The contact called rivertown Ford at (706) 653-7420 (located at 1680 whittlesey rd, columbus, ga 31904) and was informed that the part was not available. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 100,000. Parts distribution disconnect.
The contact owns a 2007 Ford Fusion. The contact noticed that the passenger side air bag was poking from the compartment and the seam was detached. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (gordie boucher of West bend, 3021 w Washington St, West bend, wi 53095). The contact was informed that the parts were not available. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified and informed the contact to wait until the parts become available. The failure mileage was approximately 140,000.
The dash on the passenger air bag protruded out several months ago. I can see the airbag in the gap from where the dash has stuck out. With the and humid weather in Tennessee this last weeks, it appears the protrusion is getting worse. I have seen several complaints on this issue. My car is on the recall for the takata inflators issues and Ford needs to have a recall and determine how to correct dash from protruding. I am very very very concerned with any passengers in my car and for myself if the air bag explodes and if no one is injured I am concerned if I can driving the exploding air bag could cause me to have an accident. Dashboard vinyl and padding is bulging away from the passenger airbag panel. This seems to be a safety issue as the airbag may not deploy properly in an accident, or may deploy at any time without an accident and injure the passenger. Sometimes airbag light goes on. Although the dashboard looks unsightly, this is not a cosmetic issue, it is a safety issue!!

The dashboard on top of where the air bag is bowing up causing a space where there shouldn't be. I'm scared that the airbag will deploy on it's own with no reason.
Dashboard cover area over passenger side airbag is starting to bulge and I can see airbag. Concerned about failure of airbag to deploy or premature deployment. Internet search has found this is a common defect and apparently Ford does not do anything if the vehicle is out of warranty, which, mine is. I am the original owner and the vehicle has never been in any type of mishap to cause this problem. Lets get Ford to repair or remedy the vehicles that have this fault.

The vehicle was taken to a private mechanic where it was diagnosed that the passengers side dashboard needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. 2007 Ford Fusion. Consumer writes in regards to problems with dashboard and airbag on passenger side of vehicle. The consumer stated a year ago, the dashboard around the passenger side air bag became unglued and it is now sticking up. The consumer was informed it would cost $1100 to replace the entire dashboard. The consumer was concerned the air bag may not deploy if needed.
The airbag is sticking out of the dashboard and Ford doesn't want to do anything about it. I believe that being this is safety concern and should be covered by Ford. I have contacted them because we have a concern that the airbag will fail or just blow out of the dashboard without any notice.
Ford Fusion 2007: Center brake light blocks the driver's rearward field of vision. The car already has a very high trunk lid. Placing the brake light just above the trunk, in the rear window, manages to block out any car directly behind - upward to 50 feet behind the car. The light should be mounted at the top of the rear window or at the top of trunk, just above the the bumper and integrated into the trunk lid. *updated 12/12/07
2007 Ford Fusion bought new does not function well it takes a while to crank. Windows began to mold, car shakes, vibrates, swerves of road when brakes applied, brakes do not function well car makes noises. Tires do not perform well tires have trouble slowing down.
