Ford Stereo No Display - Repair - Reason for the Ford radio display not working is usually due to 4 surface mount resistors. I resoldered those surface mount resistors (all had cracked solder joints) and it is working again. Not too difficult to remove, repair and reinstall.
The few problems I have are too long to have it serviced. On a recall was my passenger air bag and I am still waiting on the last recall on the brakes which could possibility of a crash test.
The six disc in dash CD/am/fm stereo made by Ford for their cars and other vehicles, is worth nothing. I'd rather have a single disc that you can see the damn light on. You think by the yr 2007 they'd have the f!@(1ng LIGHT BULB FIGURED OUT. COME ON GUYS, GET YOUR HEADS OUT YOUR POOP HOLES, and fix these little problems. WTF.
For no apparent reason, the LCD lights quit showing up. These are those that show the radio channel, time, CD track/selection, AM/FM, and all other information needed from the audio system. If I hit the front panel of the device, these lights may or may not come on, and if they do come on...it's only for a short period of time, then they go back off. It's like there is a short or something not connected any more. Nothing has happened (like getting something in the CD slot, or the like) to cause this other than just a malfunction. It's quite annoying that the operator or passenger can't tell what radio channel you have on or what CD and/or track one is listening to. As far as the audio system itself...it works...just can't identify what is playing.
