My 2006 Fusion had a very small oil leak, about 1 or 2 drops every time I parked somewhere for longer that 10 minutes. It appeared to be coming out of the oil pan on the left side ( transmission side) so I took it in to a shop and had them fix the "oil pan" leak, but a couple days later there was more oil spots so I took it back to the shop and the diagnosed it as a rear main seal leaking. Quoted me at about $400 to fix it so I decided to try some engine stop leak product which cost about $14. This made the oil leak about 10X worse!!! It went from 1 to 2 drops to big puddles!!! I am currently taking the car back to the shop to get the rear main seal replaced. Moral of story.....If your Fusion looks like it is leaking from oil pan and it is wet on the transmission side it is most likely the rear main seal as I understand this is a fairly common problem.
