Bought the car used. Second day owning the car it begins to idle rough and the check engine light comes on. Took it back to dealership and was told the rough idle was cause by a misfire due to bad spark plugs. Dealership waived the repair cost but, according to the car's maintenance schedule, spark plugs wouldn't normally be replaced until 100K.
After having the spark plugs changed under the service plan, the next day the engine shakes after being started when it is time to drive home from work. Re-starting the engine got it to run smooth. On the freeway the engine started to shake again and the check engine light came on and stayed on. I drove back to my Ford Dealership and showed them the problem. It was fixed under the extended warranty. I was told, one of the coils on the sparkplug overheated and burned out. The car's computer caused the coil to overheat and burn out. The Fusion needed 6 coils, 6 plugs, gaskets for the intake manifold and a new computer. My out of pocket expenses for gas and liablility insurance for 5 days, and a $100 deductible on the warranty was $180.
