The car is making a grinding noise when it accelerates, particularly if you accelerate while turning right. It sounds like the noise is originating in the left front.
Had it into a mechanic a few weeks ago, he said he'd never heard anything like it in 45 years. The only thing 2 mechanics could come up with is the the axle may need to be replaced, but they weren't convinced that was the problem. It also started off at first being more of a thumping noise, and has progressed to a grinding.
My 2006 Ford Fusion has a severe grinding noise in the front. I cannot tell if it is a CV joint or some kind of bearing. It occurs any time the car is in motion. It gets louder as the car moves faster. It sounds like two gears are coming together the wrong way and whining and grinding.
Does anyone have a clue what this is? I cannot afford to pay a diagnostic cost for this. PLEASE help!
