My AC went out, I thought it was the compressor and took to the Ford Dealership. They did a diagnostic test and found out it was not the compressor. Instead was the fuse which tells the compressor to start up and this fuse, mind you, only cost around $20-25 dollars. But to replace the fuse the entire dash has to be removed and the total cost because this is so time consuming would be around $800.00. I could not believe that any engineer would place a fuse inside the dash so deep that you have to remove the dash, airbags the whole thing to replace a fuse.

I guess you all have to make your money off labor because that's what this exuberant amount is for. This is totally ridiculous, why wouldn't the fuse be where the other fuses for the car are located? Didn't they realize how expensive it would be to replace where it's located!! Check with another repair shop, it still will be at $500.00 or more as their estimate for a $20 fuse, this doesn't make any sense at all. They need to recall all Fords if this is where the fuse for the compressor is located and fix this problem and if they are still putting them there it needs to be a better way to repair when it goes out.

I have an extended warranty, but wouldn't you know they cover the compressor, but not the fuse that starts it up, totally unbelievable!!! I am so frustrated right now. I guess when you purchase a car need to know where are the fuses that start up everything are located. Thank you for consideration of this problem.
