The charging light came up this morning, and later on, the battery signal lights up, and then "found under dead on the road". Out of power for the steering system and luckily I exited the freeway and pull over a local road. 10mins Jump, only can drive 10miles, and later on dead again. So starter should be ok.
It must be due to either alternator or battery problems. But leaning to the alternator problem. will check the ford dealer.
two year old, 42000 miles. It will be the last ford I have.
Update from Aug 11, 2009: The alternator was dead.
Went to the dealer at 371 Fishkill Ave, Ford serve, Beacon, NY, asing for $675 for a remanufactured alternator, and 3.5hour labor fee, which will be close to $1000.00 overall to fix this. After I reject to change the alternator there, the ford dealer charged me $50 for checking the problem although I told them th problem already.
So complain to both Ford company and Ford dealer in Beacon, NY.
